Malefaction

Since the early 90's, Malefaction have been pummeling listeners with unbridled hardocre grind and in-your-face lyrics which take on the hypocrisies of living under corporate dictatorship masquarading as a democracy. Crush the Dream, their G7 debut, was recorded in the spring of 2001 with Toronto engineer/funny-man Daryn Barry (The Weakerthans, Sons of Otis, Voivod). They followed it up in 2003 with Where there is Power, There is Always Resistance, another over-the-top cyclone of grinding, blasting, politically-disobedient disgust that left pink-bellied bangers everywhere running for the nearest thing that even remotely resembles their mommy. Throughout their decade-plus of existence, Malefaction successfully defended their title as Winnipeg's reigning super-heavyweight champions.

The band dissolved in 2004 to accommodate the academic aspirations of vocalist Travis Tomchuk, who'll be growling Canadian Labour History at unsuspecting university students any day now.
